Will you carry on biking into the colder months?
- By cannonball
The days are noticeably shorter now, and the temperature seems to be dropping day-by-day. There’s no getting away from the fact that summer is over.
Will you be tucking your bike away for the winter, away from all the horrible weather? Or will you soldier on through the worst winter can throw at us?

AI, a new Yamaha R6 and pizza mischief: PH2 | PistonHeads
- By cannonball
It’s certainly been a strange old week for two-wheeled news, so PH2 will kick off with one of the more interesting stories. Kawasaki has confirmed that it is moving forward with plans to introduce what it calls ICT (Information and Communication Technology) including Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its future bikes. Slightly worryingly, according to Kawasaki the technology is aimed to pick up on the rider’s intent and emotional state to allow the bike and rider to share an understanding of purpose. Kawasaki then goes on to elaborate that the system will “be able to offer the rider pertinent hints for enhanced riding enjoyment or relay safety-related or reassuring advice as the situation dictates”. Really? The whole point of riding a bike is that you don’t have someone nagging in your ear! It will be interesting to see how this technology evolves beyond relaying simple GPS directions.

Forget Land Speed record attempts at Bonneville Salt Flats – damn you weather conditions – there’s a new vehicle on the scene which has earned a coveted space in the 2017 Guinness World Records book.
It’s the fastest monowheel motorcycle.
The UK Monowheel Team and Yorkshireman Kevin Scott set the new record of 61.18mph, beating Kerry McLean who set the previous fastest record of 57mph at Irwindale Speedway, California, in 2001.

Guy Martin’s next record attempt in a human-powered airship
- By cannonball
Following on from the Triumph Infor Streamliner record attempt, the journey of Speed with Guy Martin continues as the TT Racer sets out to become the first person to cross the English Channel in a human-powered airship.
Sitting on a ‘flying bicycle’ – suspended beneath a helium-filled balloon the size of a bus – Guy will use every pedal stroke to spin two propellers for this record attempt.
