MV Agusta F4Z custom superbike revealed
- By cannonball
MV Agusta have revealed images of the upcoming F4Z a week before the bike was due to be unveiled.
The F4Z is the result of a collaboration between MV Agusta and Milan-based design house Zagato, who usually specialise in high-end car design. As you might have guessed from the name, the futuristic-looking F4Z is based on the firm’s F4 superbike.

Triumph record attempt set for September
- By cannonball
After achieving a top speed of 274.2mph during their practice session at the Bonneville Salt Flats, Triumph have confirmed they will return in September to attempt to set a new motorcycle land speed world record with Guy Martin.
Guy will attempt to break the current record of 376.8mph in the 1,000bhp carbon kevlar Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner.
After the successful practice session the team consulted with FIM course manager Mike Cook and agreed mid-September would offer the best opportunity for optimal course conditions.
Crew Chief and Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner designer Matt Markstaller commented: “We achieved a great deal during our test week at Bonneville and feel we are in a great position to move ahead with our record attempt. Guy settled into the streamliner very quickly and impressed us with the speed in which he mastered both the motorcycle and riding on the salt.

Gallery: Riding the highest road in the world
- By cannonball
Mountains are earth’s giants. They’re behemoths, slowly pushing their way through the clouds over millions of years to scratch at heaven’s belly. The ancient rocks offer us the highest ground we can stand on. But they don’t give up their prize easily.
The roads are treacherous, hair-pinned and protected by shields of harsh weather. But that just makes them even more addictive. Straddling a combustion engine through their winding passes, braving the terrain and battling our way to the peak turns us into conquerors. Europe’s mountains have been beaten many times; strapped down and tamed with well-laid and ridden tarmac.

Ulster GP: Dunlop takes pole in close-fought Superbike qualifying
- By cannonball
Michael Dunlop will start Saturday’s two Ulster Grand Prix Superbike races from pole position after topping the timesheets in the week’s first dry superbike session.
After hours of delays due to fog, the Superbikes got out for their session with the circuit in the best conditions so far this week, largely dry with wet patches under the trees.
The Hawk Racing BMW man, who started the session on intermediate tyres before switching to slicks, lapped the Dundrod circuit with an average speed of 131.783mph to beat GBmoto Kawasaki’s Peter Hickman to the top spot.
