Espargaró eyes Valencia return after surgery

Aleix Espargaró is targeting a return to action at the season-ending Valencian Grand Prix after undergoing surgery on a hand injury, sustained at Phillip Island.

Espargaró, while running in the lead group, went wide through Turn 1 and crashed heavily, sustaining a fracture to the fourth metacarpal of his left hand in the process.

Espargaró had hoped to be able to to compete in Malaysia this week, but Aprilia announced on Tuesday that he would skip the event to undergo surgery.
