First ride: Yamaha WR250F | MCN

  • By cannonball

It’s 5-degrees below zero and I’m getting kitted up in a cow shed – but I couldn’t be happier. Normally I’m full of anxiety before a day’s enduro riding, but not today. I’m in the safe hands of the Yamaha Off-Road Experience in Wales and about to test Yamaha’s unintimidating new 2018 WR250F – I can’t wait.

First Ride: Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 | MCN

  • By cannonball

The Vitpilen uses exactly the same basic platform as the Svartpilen, however where the urban enduro comes with high bars and chunky Pirelli tyres, the café racer wears Metzeler M5 tyres and has clip-on style bars. Which is a bit of an issue…

HONDA CB1000R (2018-on) Review

  • By cannonball

Honda haven’t chased super naked glory or gone full retro with the new CB1000R, but by nestling nicely in between they’ve created a fast, slick, beautifully-crafted roadster that’s daringly different with a style of its own. It’s not the naked Blade some might have hoped for but we reckon it’s much better for it.

Guy Martin to race again | MCN

  • By cannonball

Guy Martin is set to break out his race leathers again this year and is confirmed as racing at both the Tandragee 100 and Cookstown 100 Irish road races.

The Cookstown 100 takes place on April 27 and 28 and is the traditional opening to the Irish road racing season. Guy will be headlining the event alongside new Tyco BMW-signing Michael Dunlop, however they won’t be lining up on the same grid as Martin is racing his own BSA in the yesteryear Classic race while Dunlop is on the S1000RR superbike! But if you can’t make the Cookstown, don’t worry, you can catch Guy in action at the Tandragee races.

Should he come back? What is your opinion?

Triumph testing 1200 Scrambler with true off-road potential | MCN

  • By cannonball

Back when the Bonnie was air-cooled, Triumph’s Scrambler 900 was arguably the coolest retro of the lot. It looked great, it could shift on the road and at the time it was the only model with a 270-degree crank, so it sounded the best too.

When Triumph relaunched the Bonnie with the 1200cc water-cooled engine, the Scrambler became the Street Scrambler and took the less powerful engine from the T100 line. Now spy shots show Triumph are working on a new model with heaps more power, loads of suspension travel and proper off-road capability.

10 Best Motorcycle Backpacks

  • By cannonball

I’ve used quite a few backpacks during my time as a motorcyclist. At one point, I had gone nine years without owning a four-wheeled vehicle with only motorcycles in the garage. During that time I had a chance to try out a few different styles and brands and even the misfortune to lowside while wearing the one in the lead photo (this picture was taken months after the mishap).

Below you’ll find a list of 10 moto-centric backpacks that carry their own unique features and style. While it’s hard to say that the best motorcycle backpacks will be the same for you as anyone else, it is, at the very least, a chance to peruse some packs you may not have heard of before. So, here it is, in no specific order, the top 10 best motorcycle backpacks.
