This Turbocharged 1969 Moto Guzzi Dustbin Racer Is Motorcycle Art

  • By cannonball

Craig Rodsmith has been building motorcycles for almost 40 years, but this 1969 Moto Guzzi Eldorado is his favorite. Rodsmith had always wanted to build a dustbin racer that mirrored the old Moto Guzzi V8 racebike. The metal work was a challenge for him, as the fairing was handcrafted out of four separate pieces. It’s not perfect, but that’s what Rodsmith likes about it.

“I like bikes like this, that aren’t perfect. It has a little bit of soul,” Rodsmith says. “This looks like it was made by a human being, rather than a machine.”

MV Agusta Motor Fully In MV Holding’s Hands

  • By cannonball

I have been reporting on MV Agusta’s ups and downs for a number of years. In my opinion, the company still deserves attention due to its unequaled record in the sport, as well as the elegant models the renewed brand has put into production thanks to the creativity of Massimo Tamburini and passionate guidance of the late Claudio Castiglioni.

Calming The Crankshaft Of Honda’s Six-Cylinder Racer

  • By cannonball

The legend of Honda’s RC166 is that with Mike Hailwood at the controls the six-cylinder machine won eight straight 250cc Grand Prix races in 1966, a time in which only a rider’s seven best results were scored. Some of you may have heard—live or on a recording—the otherworldly rapid whoop, whoop, whoop of the six being warmed up, a sound so unlike that of any previous internal combustion engine that it was closest to the yelping of hounds.

Majestic Motorcycle with an Artistic Touch

  • By cannonball

Inside of his workshop, Serge Bueno pays tribute to the iconic two-wheelers of yesterday by offering them, as a result of hours of work, a new youth. As is witnessing his work on a motorcycle Majestic of 1930, belonging to his family. He had to completely rebuild the body – rusty – from reference photographs, spare parts being nowhere to be found. And the result is as the image of the machine : majestic.

Ducati Recalls 8,000 Motorcycles: Brembo Front Brake Defect

  • By cannonball

Ducati has recalled 8,000 of its 2015-2018 1299 motorcycles (including standard, S, Final Edition and Superleggera models), Monster 1200 motorcycles (including S and R models), Multistrada motorcycles (including S and Pikes Peak models), and Panigale R, and XDaviel S motorcycles and 2017-2018 Scrambler 800 Café Racer motorcycles.

Ducati says these motorcycles are equipped with Brembo front brake master cylinders that may fail. Rear brake systems are not included in the recall. These bikes fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 122, “Motorcycle Brake Systems.”

Want To Buy Rare Superbikes From A Hollywood Stuntman?

  • By cannonball

Hollywood stuntman Tom McComas has done lots of crazy things for money, and along the way his collection of motorcycles grew large enough to take up space in an airplane hangar in Los Angeles. The 47-year-old spends more time filming near Vancouver, British Columbia, lately, and decided it was time to thin the herd and buy a place in Britannia Beach, where the riding is sublime and his commute to work is much shorter than hopping on a plane and staying in an expensive hotel.

Interesting article, would you purchase a stunt bike?

An Alternative Top 10 for 2017

  • By cannonball

AS EACH YEAR WINDS DOWN we sharpen our pencils, trawl through our data and whip up our annual Bike EXIF Top Ten. But because that list is based purely on page views and social media activity, some of our personal favorites don’t always make the cut.

So, as has become tradition, we’ve compiled a follow up list—an Editor’s Choice that ignores the numbers and favors the heart. It’s a nod to those builders that we feel deserve recognition, to trends that we’d like to see take off in 2018, and to the bikes that stopped us dead in our tracks.
