BMW R1200GS Adventure vs. Ducati Multistrada Enduro vs. Honda Africa Twin vs. KTM 1190 Adventure R – COMPARISON TEST

  • By cannonball

We humans tend to obsess on how good something can be, how fast it can go, and what farkles it needs for higher performance even before we determine what vehicle we actually need or would use.
Adventure bikes are a prime example. Just like in the superbike class, where horsepower wars in the 1990s and aughts gave us super-high-performance bikes nearly unrideable at the limit by the common man, the modern ADV bike is a wonder of high performance that can be quite a beast when ridden at the limit.

Will Supercharging Take Kawasaki Into Motorcycling’s Future?

  • By cannonball

Kawasaki shocked the world three years ago when it unveiled the supercharged H2 and H2R sportbikes. The 16-valve, DOHC, 998cc inline-four that powers both of those hot rods is boosted by a mechanically driven centrifugal supercharger to generate in track-only H2R trim 310 hp at 14,000 rpm and 115 pound-feet of peak torque at 12,500 rpm.

These Are The Top 10 New Motorcycles We’re Dying To Ride In 2018

  • By cannonball

EICMA is sort of like Christmas for motorcycle fanatics. But instead of wondering if we’ve been naughty or nice—or whether Santa is going to bring us that new Call Of Duty video game—it comes as the payoff to time spent saving up for that new bike we’ve been hearing rumors about.

The little Honda Grom has earned somewhat of a cult following not only because it’s so small and nimble but also because of how cheap it is.

  • By cannonball

The little Honda Grom has earned somewhat of a cult following not only because it’s so small and nimble but also because of how cheap it is. But you can always go cheaper and Honda has just released a new bike for the Indian market and for a price equivalent to US $650.

The Honda Navi as it is known definitely bears more than a passing resemblance to the Honda Grom. This is no doubt on purpose as the Navi is actually a scooter – albeit it styled to look like a motorcycle and in fact, Honda has marketed it as an ‘automatic motorcycle’. The Navi uses a 110cc engine, has 12 inch scooter tires on the front and 10 inch ones on the back.

2018 Suzuki GSX250R Review

  • By cannonball

The 2018 Suzuki GSX250R has looks inspired by the GSX-R family, but it was designed more with the practical approach of the Katana series in mind.

Suzuki’s goal for their 2018 GSX250R was to capture both new and returning riders with a fresh small-capacity sport bike. Call it adventitious, call it bold—but whatever you do, don’t call their new bike a “Gixxer”. From the words of Tak Hayasaki, president of Suzuki Motor of America, “Why are we coming into the market with a 250cc bike now? We’re focused on practicality, and we see this bike as being bought by those who want an experience—a bike that will last them many, many years.” Be it as it might, some of you out there will still be wondering why Suzuki decided not to punch the GSX250R’s parallel-twin powerplant up to 300cc, a completely justifiable quandary.

New Motorcycles Drive Media To EICMA For Coveted First Looks

  • By cannonball

The German way was to have it all in seven tremendous 747-size former airline hangars. Up and down through the industry displays we tramped as overhead hummed somebody’s promotional zeppelin. Look at the time! It’s BMW? It’s Kawasaki? We crowd in and sit. Soon pounding rock and bursts of excited announcing take turns.

Kenny Roberts Had A Special Weapon That Helped Him Win The 1978 500cc World Championship

  • By cannonball

The usual story is that when Kenny Roberts arrived in Europe and deployed his dirt-track-based point-and-shoot riding style, stylists of the classic European big line, like main rival Barry Sheene, were left in the dust. There is useful truth here: Roberts asked his motorcycle to do what motorcycles do best, accelerate, while Sheene and the others asked their bikes to do what bikes do so poorly, turn.
