Harley-Davidson turns motorcycling on its head

  • By cannonball

In the biggest shake up in recent memory, Harley-Davidson have thrown caution to the wind and unveiled a radical new range of motorcycles that will change the course of the brand for years to come. Aimed squarely at attracting a new, younger audience both to the brand and to motorcycling in general, their new range of middleweights and electric bikes will take the old bar and shield until totally new territories. At the same time, they’re also modernising and improving their core Tourer and Cruiser offering with brand new electronics and improved connectivity, changing the way their dealers operate and even exploring direct to consumer online sales. Strap in folks, this is going to be a wild ride.

BSB: Brookes bags Brands double

  • By cannonball

Josh Brookes held off a hard charge from Be Wiser Ducati’s Glenn Irwin to take his first double victory since 2015 in the sixth round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch.

The Aussie was unstoppable on the Grand Prix layout, leading the second race from start to finish after his earlier victory. However, Irwin was once again breathing down his neck towards the end of the race but the Ducati man wasn’t quite close enough to make a pass on the final lap.

  • By cannonball

Just over 50 years after Evel Knievel’s ill-fated attempt to jump the fountains at Caesar’s Palace, Travis Pastrana successfully recreated the stunt on an Indian Scout FTR750.

The 11-time X Games gold medallist also recreated two of Knievel’s other famous stunts on Sunday, July 8, clearing 52 stacked, crushed cars and then 16 busses before the fountain jump.
