Guy Martin to race again | MCN

  • By cannonball

Guy Martin is set to break out his race leathers again this year and is confirmed as racing at both the Tandragee 100 and Cookstown 100 Irish road races.

The Cookstown 100 takes place on April 27 and 28 and is the traditional opening to the Irish road racing season. Guy will be headlining the event alongside new Tyco BMW-signing Michael Dunlop, however they won’t be lining up on the same grid as Martin is racing his own BSA in the yesteryear Classic race while Dunlop is on the S1000RR superbike! But if you can’t make the Cookstown, don’t worry, you can catch Guy in action at the Tandragee races.

Triumph testing 1200 Scrambler with true off-road potential | MCN

  • By cannonball

Back when the Bonnie was air-cooled, Triumph’s Scrambler 900 was arguably the coolest retro of the lot. It looked great, it could shift on the road and at the time it was the only model with a 270-degree crank, so it sounded the best too.

When Triumph relaunched the Bonnie with the 1200cc water-cooled engine, the Scrambler became the Street Scrambler and took the less powerful engine from the T100 line. Now spy shots show Triumph are working on a new model with heaps more power, loads of suspension travel and proper off-road capability.

10 Best Motorcycle Backpacks

  • By cannonball

I’ve used quite a few backpacks during my time as a motorcyclist. At one point, I had gone nine years without owning a four-wheeled vehicle with only motorcycles in the garage. During that time I had a chance to try out a few different styles and brands and even the misfortune to lowside while wearing the one in the lead photo (this picture was taken months after the mishap).

Below you’ll find a list of 10 moto-centric backpacks that carry their own unique features and style. While it’s hard to say that the best motorcycle backpacks will be the same for you as anyone else, it is, at the very least, a chance to peruse some packs you may not have heard of before. So, here it is, in no specific order, the top 10 best motorcycle backpacks.

9 tips to help you save money on motorcycle insurance

  • By cannonball

Buying a motorcycle can be an exciting process, and for many motorcycle fans a motorbike is a much better choice than “a metal box with wheels.” It’s also true that motorcycles are involved in a disproportional number of accidents, so it may not always be easy to find affordable motorcycl

Gunning for 200 MPH on a 70 Year Old Triumph Motorcycle

  • By cannonball

The latest generation of Triumph motorcycles is the best in the company’s history. That’s an objective fact, and one that is indisputably true. Still, it is the legend of the old Triumph bikes that drives the brand forward … and that legend drives the brand’s fans forward, too. Fans like Alp Sungurtekin, who hopes to add a record of his adventures to the annals of motorcycling history.

Alp hopes to earn his place in those annals (huh-huh) by taking a sixty-eight (68) year old, 650cc, air-cooled, pushrod Triumph motor and boosting its output from 33 horsepower to more than 150. Enough, Alp hopes, to crack 200 MPH at the Bonneville salt flats.

2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Adventure Motorcycle Review

  • By cannonball

As much fun as it would have been to ride the all-new 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan in the Himalayans, I traveled a whopping 50 miles to Midlothian, Texas, to test the Indian-built ADV motorcycle on pavement and in the dirt to find out just how much adventure it is ready for.

Let’s get physical: how MXGP riders push the limits of motorcycle racing and human endurance…

  • By cannonball

Grand Prix motocross, abbreviated to MXGP, is a mystifyingly obscure closed-circuit racing series (with a passionate and numerous grass roots following) that appears hard to rationalise.
