TT 2017: Lee Johnston and Jackson Racing split | RR News

Lee Johnston and Jackson Racing have parted company as practice for the Isle of Man TT looms on Saturday.

The Northern Ireland rider joined the team for the 2017 international road races after his former East Coast Racing outfit withdrew from the sport at the end of last season.

TT 2017: First practice cancelled due to weather | RR News

Saturday’s opening practice session at the Isle of Man TT was cancelled due to mist and fog.

Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson said the decision to call off practice was made on safety grounds, with the conditions resulting in the air ambulance helicopters being unable to take off.

Roads were closed from 6.20pm around the 37.73-mile course with the newcomers due to be out first on their speed controlled laps. However, after a short delay, the decision was taken to cancel.

MotoGP 2017: Le Mans preview – what to expect from round five in France

or round five of the 2017 MotoGP World championship the series heads to Le Mans in France. After round four factory Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi remains at the head of the championship, his lead over team mate Maverick Vinales now though reduced to just two points. Vinales in turn also holds a two point lead over reigning Champion Marc Marquez.

New ‘ramp’ kerbs on Monaco GP track too ‘extreme’ say F1 drivers

There were concerns that the previous smaller ‘speed bumps’ at the tight right-left chicane out of the Swimming Pool section did not adequately penalise drivers cutting the corner.

This year organisers introduced a new large yellow kerb on the apex, with a smaller speed bump running parallel to the exit wall, to deter drivers from taking liberties with track limits.

MotoGP: Danny Kent given Moto2 return as injury stand-in

The 2015 Moto3 champion will ride for the Garage Plus Interwetten squad in Italy, marking a return to the second tier after splitting from the Kiefer team.

Kent won the Moto3 title with Kiefer under the Leopard Racing banner and started the Moto2 season with that entity, but left after sitting out April’s Austin race.

Honda and Aprilia join Ducati’s private Barcelona MotoGP test

Honda and Aprilia will both join rival MotoGP manufacturer Ducati this week during its private two-day test at Barcelona, where Casey Stoner is set for his second 2017 outing.

Ducati has rented the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit from Monday to Wednesday, with test rider Michele Pirro set to begin running on Monday – possibly along with Stoner – before race riders Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso join the action on Tuesday and Wednesday.
