Polished Panigale – Ortolani Customs Ducati 1199S

  • By cannonball

Die hard sportsbike fans will tell you that there are some bikes you just don’t mess with. They’re the elite, creme de la creme, groundbreaking machines that make grown men go weak at the knees. Take for instance the 2012-2014 Ducati Panigale 1199 S. This was a Ducati unlike any before it. With a whole new chassis design, a power to weight ratio verging on insane and all the latest tech bells and whistles the Panigale 1199 S was in a league of its own. It was so good in fact that MCN gave the Italian a 5 out of 5 rating, validating just how special this motorcycle was.

MotoGP drops its penalty points system with immediate effect!

  • By cannonball

The system was introduced in a bid to deliver judicial consistency, and has been tweaked several times in recent years.

Its most-famous application was sending Valentino Rossi to the rear of the grid for the 2015 Valencia finale, after the title contender’s infamous clash with Marc Marquez at Sepang triggered an interim penalty for reaching four points.

The All-Electric Porsche Motorcycle Concept

  • By cannonball

At some point, they’re going to have to start releasing these futuristic motorcycle concepts, because we’re not sure how many more we can take without actually getting to ride one. Most recently, Porsche unveiled the 618, an electric motorcycle concept that looks like a 911 Turbo you sit on top of rather and inside. The design is the brainchild of Miguel Angel Bahri, who wanted to make an electric concept that could actually be built today, not in the usual decades long delay (or at least what feels like decades). A digital instrument panel sits down to the left of the rider, and works with mobile devices to give important information and updates, like range, nearby charging points, and GPS. The bike will also charge your cell phone, if that’s something you were worried about. We’ll end this the way we usually end posts like this, by begging the company to get off their asses and start actually making some of these concepts reality. Millions more dollars are sitting right there in front of you, Porsche.

The Next Step In the Evolution Of The Electric Motorcycle

  • By cannonball

In recent years, the world of electric motorcycles has slowly grown from a few DIY builds to a rapidly growing market. But when it gets crowded, it sometimes takes a touch of Italian style to stand out. That’s exactly what Italian Volt did. Founded in 2016 by two Guinness World Record holders (for the longest journey completed on an electric motorcycle, an impressive road trip of 7,692 miles) and a former designer for the likes of Lamborghini and Bertoni, the company set expectations pretty high. And with Lacama, it certainly delivered. Created as a high-end bike that’s easy to customize, this motorcycle impresses with its versatility.

8 Things You Didn’t Know About The 2017 Yamaha R6

  • By cannonball

By now fans of the middleweight sportbike class are well aware of Yamaha’s new 2017 YZF-R6. A bike long overdue, the R6 borrows some styling and technology from its R1 big brother. With a fresh new look and a host of electronics that top the middleweight class, I’m really excited to throw a leg over it. And in fact, by the time this list is published, I’ll have just finished riding the new R6 at one of California’s best racetracks, Thunderhill Raceway. My First Ride Review of the bike will be up shortly, but in the meantime, here are eight things you didn’t know about the 2017 Yamaha R6.

A Guzzi cafe racer inspired by Red Bull F1 cars

  • By cannonball

Calling the Moto Guzzi Breva 750 a ‘commuter bike’ is a bit cheeky, but it does fit the profile. Manageable power, neutral ergonomics and a low seat height make it the perfect ’round-towner for beginners.

But—like many in its class—it’s hardly a looker. It’s almost as if manufacturers deliberately build blandness into their entry-level offerings, hoping to inspire riders to upgrade later on.
